Solar panel installation across the South West

Cut your electricity bills and generate your own clean power. We survey your roof, size the system to how you use energy and install it for you.

What you get

  • A site survey where we check your roof and ask how you use energy
  • A clear written quote with the costs, savings and payback period
  • Installation by our team, usually finished in one to two days on site
  • Options for a battery and an EV charger
  • Aftercare: cleaning, bird-proofing and periodic fine-tuning

Is your roof suitable?

Most roofs can take solar panels. South-facing is ideal. East and west roofs still work, with roughly 15 to 20% less energy, while north-facing roofs are not recommended. Trees, chimneys and neighbouring buildings can shade panels and cut output. Optimisers can limit the effect. We check all of this at the survey, so you know what to expect before you commit.

Sized to the way you live

A home that is empty all day needs a different system from one with people in. We ask how much electricity you use, when you use it, and whether you want to add a battery or an EV charger now or later. Then we design the system around that, so you are not paying for panels you cannot use.

What it costs

Energy Saving Trust puts a typical 4.5 kWp home system at around £7,600. Your price depends on your roof, the system size, the equipment and whether you add a battery. Our costs and finance page explains what affects the price and what VAT applies.

Homes and organisations

We fit solar for homeowners and for businesses, farms and community buildings. Larger roofs follow a similar process with more focus on daytime use. See commercial solar.

Solar panel questions

How much do solar panels cost?

Energy Saving Trust puts a typical 4.5 kWp home system at around £7,600. Your price depends on your roof, the system size, the equipment, scaffolding and whether you add a battery. After a survey we send a written quote.

How long do solar panels take to pay for themselves?

Energy Saving Trust's July 2026 figures show payback of 9 to 11 years in the locations it lists, including export payments. Your own figure depends on how much power you use in the day, your tariff and the system size. We go through the savings and payback with you before you commit.

Will solar panels work on my roof?

South-facing is ideal. East or west roofs still work, with roughly 15 to 20% less energy. North-facing roofs are not recommended. Shade from trees, chimneys and buildings reduces output. We check all of this at the survey.

Do solar panels work when it is cloudy or raining?

Yes, at reduced output. Panels keep generating on cloudy and rainy days, just less than in bright sun.

How long do solar panels last?

Panel performance warranties commonly run 25 to 30 years. Ask us for the warranty terms for each part of your system when you get your quote.

How long does installation take?

Customer reviews describe installs finished in one to two days, with the scaffolding taken down two days later. The wait before installation varies with demand. One customer was installed five weeks after the survey.
